September rolled around and our Window Committee was back doing what they love to do - Creating another great Window Display at SOFA. We really love doing this and it brings together several creative minds, who for some reason seem to have very similar ways at creating an idea. That is quite special considering creative people vary so much. I think the main thing is the respect we offer each other and the different ideas that all come together. Our most recent window was created with the theme of "A Ladies' Boudoir". This window display has been created by several people with some members coming and going and with a basic core group of 5 decorators who spend their time coming up with ideas, sourcing products, putting the display together which means moving and lifting heavy furnishings and styling the items in order to highlight CDECA as an organization of professional Interior Decorators & Designers.
We would not be able to produce the great displays if it were not for the incredible support we receive from the great showrooms at SOFA. Thanks to each and every one of you.

Over a long time now, we were very fortunate that SoFA loaned us the window and we received much positive feedback from the showrooms, visitors and other decorators/designers about our creations. We will let you know if we have this opportunity again to showcase the talent of what all Decorators and Designers do.

A New Window Display for the Autumn- Our answer to the question that clients ask: How to extend the outdoor season, and keep that summer feeling alive! The GTA West Window team have such great imaginations and energy- thanks to all who helped make our new window a reality. First we plan it out, then we go sourcing for items for the window, meet at SoFA again, remove/return all the old items(in this case- the baby's room), then clean the window and make our plan come to life. What a dedicated group. We have sculptures, a stone bench, plants, wonder wicker chairs, amazing carpets and even a couple of wine glasses and a throw for those cool, quiet Fall evenings. Our thanks to our sponsors/affiliates for this gorgeous window: Wicker Emporium, Left Bank Art, Surya Rugs, C.Jere by Artisan House. The next time you are at SoFA, make sure to drop by the Design lab and see the ever changing window display.
Our GTA West Chapter has been in charge of the "store front window" for the Design Lab at SoFA
A dedicated group has changed the window display frequently, here is our latest version just completed on May 8th- a delightful child's room. We would like to thank our sponsors, who all have showrooms at SOFA:

Leftbank Art – Painted canvas

and had pictures of the winning spaces
Our first window was "Glitz & Glam" and what a lot of fun we had creating it.
Our photography skills improved with each window
It all started with this empty space.... and grew!
